Program :: Weekend 2 / Presented by Jägermeister

Was our first weekend wintery enough for you? Say what you will, but Igloofest has already put snow on the ground in a way the Christmas holidays just couldn’t muster!
To kick off the next round we’re inviting you to drop by the launch of the special Urbania Lesbian Issue taking place this Thursday as of 5 PM at Marché Bonsecours. If you’re walking from de la Commune street to Igloofest, you’ll be happy to know that we’ll be offering you a complimentary beer ticket!
Thursday, January 19th - in collaboration with Urbania
Our second weekend gets going on Thursday, January 19th, with a get wet kiss of a welcome for one of Montreal longest-running club-music institutions, Turbo Records. The Sapporo Stage fires up at 6:30pm with the label’s new generation, Toronto banger Bordello. Up next, at 8pm, the big boss himself and the man who built this city’s nightlife from the ground up, the inimitable Tiga (BBC Radio 6 mix here). At 10pm we cross the Atlantic to pick up French producer Terence Fixmer, who latest EP comes out on Turbo. Listen to this CLR podcast:
CLRSR125 - Terence Fixmer by Piknic / Igloofest
All visuals provided by Belinda Ocean vs. Bobby Digital and Bailllat Cardell & Fils.
Meanwhile, the Virgin Mobile Igloo is den of fierce electro. Montreal’s Patefowgras shows up 7:30pm, followed by Boomclap Soundcrew at 9:30pm.
Friday, January 20th - in collaboration with MUTEK and Bande à part
Friday’s bill is Igloofest’s annual MUTEK night, co-presented with Bande à part! The evening gets going at 6:30pm with Montreal’s Fizz Factory resident DJs Seb Fauteux & Max Reynolds. At 8:30pm, British bass frequency specialist Pearson Sound (aka Ramadanman) takes over the decks (BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix here). And the Sapporo Stage rounds out its line-up with German tech-house producer D.Diggler at 10:30pm (podcast here).
Meanwhile, the Virgin Mobile Igloo will be jam-packed with DJs from the Speakeasy Electro Swing crew. DJ Eliazar, Don Mescal and Khalil go back-to-back-to-back at 7:30pm, and over 2 hours later, at 9:45pm, French duo Smokey Joe & The Kid.

By 11pm, a second trio ties up the turntables, this time France’s Tha New Team. It’s going to be eclectic, to say the least.
Saturday, January 21st - in collaboration with Nightlife.ca
With electro and bass out of the way, Saturday night is reserved for top-drawer techno. Local big-room savant Hakim Guelmi gets the night started at 6:30pm in propulsive fashion, and at 8pm UK's Max Cooper (podcast here) makes a second attempt at an outdoor appearance in Montreal, after his Piknic slot this past summer was moved indoors due to rain. No chance of that this time! By 10pm, lovers of French techno will be lining the fences in anticipation for Sébastien Léger. Visuals come alive courtesy of TIND and vj Ma”.
For those who don’t feel like techno, the Virgin Mobile Igloo offers up a fine alternative of live beats. Local producer Audio Sin turns on his machinery at 7:30pm, while duo Leboeuf et Laviolette power up for 10pm.
